ExtroBritannia's April event:

The next ExtroBritannia get-together is scheduled for Saturday the 22nd of April 2006 starting at 12,30 in Holborn, London. The event is free and everyone's welcome.

Global warming - from a transhumanist perspective

This month we are having an informal discussion on the thorny issue of global warming from a transhumanist perspective. Is it something we don't need to worry about, as the technological developments we forecast for the next fifty years will render it obsolete as an existential risk? Or is it something that could slow down or prevent the same technological advances from taking place?

We will be at the Penderel's Oak (see below for the address) from 12,30 for lunch and an informal chat. The climate change discussion will start at approx 2pm and, once that's concluded, we'll stay for drinks until about 5pm. Feel free to show up at any time.

If it's your first time at an ExtroBritannia event, look out for a copy of Kurzweil's "The Singularity is Near" at our table (click here to see what it looks like).
